I'm doing the yue du bu tie.
This time, the article was one that really
interests me. It's like not the boring old type,
likethe taiwan election. -.-
So it was about a book called Pearls Before Breakfast,
which won The Pulitzer Prize, and was written by Gene
Weingarten. (German? Maybe.) He conducted a test,
he asked the world's famous violinist, Joshua Bell
to act as a street performer in the MRT, and perform,
while putting his violin casee as the place where
people can put their money into. ( If they like his performance,
obviously.) So, no one really noticed this talented man
and his beautiful music. Btw, when he held a concert,
it was
full house. So, on this day, 1097 passed by this
world-famous violinist, and only 7 people stopped and
listen to his music, 1 person regconised him, and 27 people
gave money. (37.17 USD)
When the performance ended, the author asked
the people what special event happened during
that day, and amongst all, only one
mentioned the outstanding violinist. The rest
had no impression at all.
So, the author was really trying to test the public
if in their life, did they notice the beautiful things around them?
Is it because o f our busy life, that we pass by
and did not really pay attention to the every
beautiful thing around us?
You know the chinese word for busy, mang2.
And the chinese word for blind, mang2.
Both sounds the same right.
Yeah,so intepret yourself.
What is this life if, full of care,we have no time to stand and stare?
